Workshops & Courses 2007

Courses run from 10.00am to 4.00pm unless otherwise specified. Tea/coffee is provided.

In the event of cancellation of the course by DWW all payments made to DWW will be refunded in full.

Deposits are refundable upon cancellation up to one month before the commencement of the course. After this time payments will be refunded only if a replacement booking is found and/or the course is fully booked.

'Wannabe Weavers' - Beginners Courses

6 x 1 day sessions, 10.00am to 4.00pm
A new series of courses will be held throughout 2008.
Thanks to our recent National Lottery 'Awards for All' grant, brand new 8 shaft Louët looms are available for use at these workshops. Yarns may be purchased at the workshop for a small charge.

Blackjack Weaving Group

Led by Sue Dwyer
We had tremendous fun with this weaving card game over the past two years and will continue to meet every few months in 2008. We've already produced a fantastic array of samples between us which we are holding at the workshop for others to see. All weavers are welcome to join the group at any time during the year, experienced or otherwise.

Free to members, non-members £5.00 per session.

Weaves that ripple

8, 9 & 10 July 2008

This course will explore how to create textured fabrics by using overspun yarn, certain twill threadings and defelected double weave. The course will be a round robin so after 3 days students should leave with a set of samples which they can use as a reference in the future. 4 & 8 shaft looms. Precise details of threadings and warp materials will be sent to each student prior to the course.

Tablet Weaving on the Loom

Weft Face Weaves on 4 & 8 Shafts

17, 18 & 19 October 2008

This course will explore Krokbragd, Taqueté, Boundweave and several other weft face weaves.The course will be a round robin so after 3 days students should leave with a set of samples which they can use as a reference in the future. 4 & 8 shaft looms. Spinning Group

A group of spinners meet monthly on Friday mornings at the workshop. They are always on the look-out for new members, experienced or beginners, to join their group.
