I learned to weave at Dartington in 1986, having first trained as a graphic designer in the 70s. This, along with living on Dartmoor, influences my weaving in all sorts of ways. My interest in weaving took a back seat for many years until the Workshop began. I now weave regularly, often ikat-dyeing my yarns with indigo.

I sell my textiles during Workshop events and with Manaton Makers, of which I am also a member. I have also recently begun selling my textiles online from my own website www.safi-handweaving.co.uk

We’ve had enormous fun setting up the Workshop. It’s been, and still is, a huge adventure and we’re all amazed at the success of it in such a relatively short space of time.
