Tutors: Christine Hart & Jackie Millichap

Under the guidance of two experienced tutors from Devon Weavers Workshop’s spinners (Totnes Spinning Group) the following will be covered over the 2 day course;

• Using a spinning wheel; different types, how to set up, how to adjust when spinning, maintenance of the wheel etc
• Spinning a basic ‘single’
• Plying 2 ‘singles’ together to produce a balanced skein of yarn
• Drop spindle use
• Some time will be spent talking about and looking at different types of fleece and how to prepare fleece for spinning. This could include practice with handcarding and other preparation techniques.

Bring your own spinning wheel or we can make a wheel available for the duration of the course with prior notice.

Course cost: £95 – two days tuition, 10am to 4pm (including materials and loan of wheel if required)

Cancellation: refundable up to 2 months prior to the commencement of the course.
