Anne says: ‘I have been weaving and braiding for over 40 years and was a founder member of the Braid Society. Like many others I enjoyed ‘twiddling’ with yarns from an early age – something that our Neanderthal ancestors did as well! I have been so lucky to have discovered a craft that really motivates me. I have written two books: The Handweaver’s Pattern Book [published as The Handweaver’s Pattern Directory in the USA; & Tissage in France] and The Weaver’s Inkle Pattern Directory. I enjoy the cross-fertilisation between techniques and structures, often experimenting with transferring one technique to another construction method. When I am not weaving or braiding I am usually thinking about it and exploring new designs or adaptations of techniques.’
