My love for weaving and spinning began in the early 1970s, when I was taught to spin by Vera Lockyer. Soon afterwards I went on a beginner’s weaving course at the Handweavers Studio. Thus began a life-long passion for creating yarns and fabrics.

Later, I spent several years living in the USA and today frequently visit family in the Far East. This gives me a chance to see Chinese, Thai and Balinese textiles. My travels influence my ideas in weaving. I am interested to see how weavers from other cultures use colour and design.

It is exciting to be a founder member of the new workshop, exchanging ideas and attending courses. I have just purchased a Magic Dobby loom, so am now venturing into the world of computer-controlled weaving.
