(3 days held over 2 weekends. Day 1 devising warp plan; Days 2 & 3 weaving. Looms to be dressed in the intervening week.)

Day 1: Sunday 17 July 2022
Days 2 & 3: Saturday 23 and Sunday 24 July 2022

An accessible and demystifying introduction to basic 8 shaft, double cloth. Participants will take the first steps into multi-layer weaving to create simple yet striking block patterns. You will learn how to devise your own double cloth warp plan, as well as how to design your own lifting plans. We will also explore the potential for padding the blocks to create a woven quilted fabric, warp / weft floats, colour mixing, ‘colour and weave’ effects, and textured weft yarn experimentation, as per individual interests.
