Cramming and Spacing with Alice Noble

During this course you will experiment with spacing and cramming techniques in the warp and weft, to create experimental and unconventional woven fabric.

Over the weekend you will use your inspiration to create experimental weaves by manipulating the warp across the reed.

Looms will be threaded before the course but not put through the reed so that we can explore fully the cramming and spacing techniques.

Alice designs woven fabric that is inspired by space imagery, and uses the technique of spacing and cramming to create unique patterns within her weaves.

She will be guiding you on designing your own unique fabrics, pushing the boundaries of conventional weaving and having fun with experimenting.
